BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING (HONS) CHEMICAL

Introduction

The programme focuses on the application of engineering principles to the design, construction and operation of industrial processing plants that deals with chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceutical, semiconductor and food processing. Students will apply in-depth technical knowledge for problem identification, interpret, evaluate and improve system performance of a plant operation.

Programme Objective

To produce technically qualified well-rounded Chemical Engineers with the potential to become leaders of industry and the nation.

Programme Outcomes

At the end of the programme, the graduates should be able to:

i. Apply chemical and engineering principles for problem identification, formulation and solution.
ii. Apply in-depth technical knowledge to analyze, interpret, evaluate and improve system performance in one of the specialised areas (industrial environmental engineering, process plant engineering, gas and petrochemical engineering, process analysis and control and petroleum engineering).
iii. Design process plants and improve performance by incorporating the concept of sustainable development.
iv. Demonstrate professional ethics, leadership capacity and moral values in their profession.
v. Function and communicate efficiently in a variety of professional context as an individual and in a group with the capacity to be a leader or manager.
